Labia reduction: 3 methods
Nowadays, intimate surgery offers many options for reducing the size of labia majora. The treatment begins with a discreet consultation in which you can confide in us completely. - Reduction of the labia minora
This procedure is suitable for isolated excess skin in the labia area, e.g. to compensate for asymmetry. Excess tissue below the clitoris is removed. The natural appearance of the labia is retained so that you can feel completely comfortable in your body again. This procedure is usually performed on an outpatient basis and under local anaesthetic. - Reduction of the labia minora & tightening of the clitoral hood
Together, the clitoral hood and labia form an aesthetic unit. In many cases, the clitoral hood extends far beyond the clitoris itself. It therefore makes sense to also reduce the excess skin on the clitoral hood as part of labia reduction. In this complex procedure, we only treat the surrounding tissue, but not the clitoris itself. In this way, we can fully preserve the nerve tissue of the clitoris and thus also the sensitivity. - Reduction of the labia minora with tightening of the clitoral hood and displacement of the clitoris
With this procedure, the clitoris can also be moved slightly towards the vaginal entrance. This allows for slightly increased stimulation during sexual intercourse. The sensitivity to touch is retained.
After labiaplasty
The healing time varies greatly from patient to patient, regardless of which procedure is used. Rest and loose-fitting clothing are recommended for the first few days after the procedure. You should refrain from sexual intercourse for a period of four weeks. Swelling is possible, but this will disappear on its own within a few days. Thanks to precise planning of the incision in advance, only very fine scars usually remain. As soon as healing is complete, these are usually barely visible.
Labia reduction with ThermiVa®
Radiofrequency therapy is a new method for reducing the size of the labia in cases of minor sagging or excess skin. With ThermiVa® the tissue is heated by inserting a narrow applicator into the vagina. A controlled release of heat takes place, which causes the tissue to contract. As a result, the vagina also becomes firmer and tighter.
